Narrative

Simply put, lots of resources dispersed and little to show for it - Quandary: How much longer can society bare incompetency – riding the merry-go-round of repeating the same tactics, getting the same results with the apathy of – “so, let’s try it again…?” – Mark L. Merrill

The great strength and weakness of philanthropic foundations is their limited external accountability. According to a common definition of accountability, “A is accountable to B when A is obliged to inform B about A’s . . . actions and decisions, to justify them, and to suffer punishment in the event of eventual misconduct.” – Source: from Fall 2009 issue of Philanthropy magazine, By Adam Meyerson

The missing link, in the business of philanthropy / community development / socioeconomic venture  continues to be overall accountability i.e., the lack of assured fiduciary, compliance, management and transparency processes. The disturbing fact is - billions of dollars are available – but few entities are structured and/or accountable to receive funding.

FACE is the administrative mobilization process, of the Advocacy Foundation, Inc. bridging accountability and funding, specifically designed to - change the face of accountability - in a manner mutually beneficial to all entities/stakeholders and aspects within the business of philanthropy and community development processes and relationships.

An additional process, which is most often overlooked or not well informed, is accountability within the community engagement process. In most cases, engagement is statistical and “presumptive” at best. The Advocacy foundation’s approach to community, strategically addresses the engagement process, through implementing - additional grassroots assessment processes, which include the participation of an entire community; these processes are customizable to thoroughly assess the specific needs of any given community.

The Advocacy Foundation’s, FACE Mobilization Process, is the administrative and comprehensive strategy designed to uniquely address and resolve these dilemmas.

Two of the definitions of the word “face” as defined in the thesaurus are 1) to be oriented in a certain direction, often with respect to another reference point; be opposite to. 2) Status in the eyes of others.

The cost of noncompliance, alone, has long been a frown on the face of philanthropic relationships, not to mention numerous other fiduciary and administrative deficiencies.

Accomplishing accountability amongst philanthropic relationships is not the Advocacy Foundations benchmark for success; success is only accomplished through continued expansion of quantitative and qualitative sustainability, expansive longevity and – legacy building - for all involved stakeholders.

The FACE administrative process is designing and developing a comprehensive structural foundation ideal for holistic community "redevelopment." The Advocacy Foundation’s collaborative has identified several crucial areas, most often overlooked /neglected, which once appropriately addressed will save billions of dollars, and authentically address and resolve the REAL problems, inherent today’s society.
